Window 7 Users 3 Step Studio Re-install Instructions

Hello teachers and students,

If you are currently running our curriculum on Windows 7 you may be experiencing your 3 Step Studio software crashing. This is easily fixed by uninstalling 3 Step Studio and then re-installing it via the DevEnvironmentSetup.exe file on your Products and Downloads page. Note that this is a new version of the DevEnvironmentSetup.exe, so be sure to re-download this file.

Let’s go through this process step by step.

Step One: Uninstall 3 Step Studio

Go to the Start Menu in the lower left corner of your screen and open by clicking the Windows Icon.


Then click Control Panel


Which will bring up this menu. Click Uninstall a Program.


Now you will need to scroll down to the DevPro 3 Step Studio program, highlight it and then click “uninstall”.


This will bring up a window to uninstall the program. Click “Next”.


3 Step Studio will now uninstall from your computer. This may take a minute to complete.

Step Two: Reinstall 3 Step Studio

Now we will re-install 3 Step Studio, from which it will now function properly.

Go to your and sign in to your account.


Once you are logged into your account go to the Products/Download page.


At the top of the page, click Download DevEnvironmentSetup.exe. Remember, this is a new version of the DevEnvironmentSetup.exe file, so be sure not to skip this step.


Wait for the file to download and then click “Run”.


At this point, you only need to re-install 3 Step Studio. We will skip the install of the other programs we already have.


Allow the installer to run and you will see this screen for Visual Studio.


Click the close window “x” in the top right corner.


Then confirm you want to cancel the setup by clicking “yes”.


When prompted, cancel the installation of MonoGame.


And Open AL. Finally, you will be given the option to re-install 3 Step Studio.


Click “next” and follow the easy process to download the new version of 3 Step Studio. Once 3 Step Studio is re-installed you can then skip re-installing the Course Launcher.
